CLIENT BRIEF

Across a number of projects, Visual Culture worked with Healthscope to create video content for hospitals and teams around Australia.

The projects covered a diverse range of communication needs – from showcasing hospitals and their services to sharing patient experiences, recognising the achievements of staff and capturing the expertise of health professionals.

With hospitals, contributors and stories located across the country, an important part of our role was making the production process efficient while ensuring a consistent approach across the finished content.

It became an opportunity to demonstrate how one production partner could support a large healthcare organisation with very different types of video – adapting the creative and production approach according to the audience, subject and purpose of each project.

OUR APPROACH

Our work with Healthscope combined centralised project management and post-production with the ability to coordinate filming in locations around Australia.

Using our network of experienced production crews, we were able to film locally at hospitals in different states rather than requiring the same crew to travel interstate for every project.

Visual Culture remained the central point of coordination.

We established the production approach, worked with Healthscope teams and contributors to prepare for filming, and briefed our crews to ensure we captured the material required.

Footage then came back to our Melbourne team for post-production, where we managed the edit, storytelling, graphics, branding, audio and final delivery.

This approach gave us the flexibility to produce content in different locations while maintaining consistency across the work.

A VARIETY OF HEALTHCARE STORIES

One of the strengths of our work with Healthscope was the variety of stories we were able to help tell.

Showcasing Hospitals & Services

Hospital tours and promotional content provided an opportunity to introduce individual hospitals, their facilities, services and people.

For patient-facing content, our focus was on making information accessible while capturing the human side of healthcare – combining interviews with carefully filmed footage of the hospital environment, staff and services.

The result was content that could help audiences become more familiar with a hospital and the people they may encounter there.

Celebrating People

Our work also included profiles recognising Healthscope employees and award recipients.

These projects called for a much more personal style of storytelling.

Through carefully guided interviews, we encouraged contributors to speak naturally about their work, achievements and experiences. Supporting footage captured them within their working environment and helped build a more complete picture of the person behind the story.

Sharing Expertise

Healthscope also engaged Visual Culture to capture specialist knowledge through expert interviews, presentations and seminars.

For these projects, the production approach was focused on making professional and sometimes complex information clear, engaging and accessible.

Whether capturing an individual specialist or a longer presentation, our role was to create polished content while allowing the knowledge and credibility of the health professional to remain at the centre of the video.

OUTCOME

Across our work with Healthscope, we produced a diverse library of video content featuring hospitals, patients, employees and health professionals around Australia.

The projects demonstrated the value of having a production approach that could adapt to both the story and the location.

Our national crew network allowed filming to take place locally and efficiently, while centralised management and post-production through Visual Culture helped maintain consistency across the finished work.

Just as importantly, the breadth of the projects drew on different areas of our production experience – from promotional and corporate video to interviews, human-interest storytelling, events and educational content.

For an organisation with many different people and stories to communicate, that versatility allowed us to change the production style without losing sight of the fundamentals: understanding the audience, finding the story and creating video content with a clear purpose.
