CLIENT BRIEF

A vibrant three-minute video showcasing the University’s most successful engineering program in support of its application for the 2014 Australian Awards for University Teaching. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been nominated for its Formula SAE program, a yearlong program designed to prepare students for the annual SAE racecar design competition. Run by the Society of Automotive Engineers, the competition is entered by a large number of universities around the world.

OUR APPROACH

In order to fulfill the brief we suggested:

Utilising existing footage of past race days
Interviews with program mentors, technical staff, past students and program sponsors to showcase all elements of the program
Student working in various settings such as the student office, garage and workshop.
OUTCOME

We look forward to hearing if the faculty is successful in winning an award when the results are announced.

FEEDBACK

“Working with Visual Culture has been a pleasure.  The team is very professional and organised in the filming schedule and very effective in the logistics of contacting (and gathering) the people we needed in the video shoot, which in our case, consisted of very busy people scattered across Melbourne.  The resulting video is of professional quality and worked very well in delivering the key messages that we needed in our brief.”  – Denny Oetomo, Senior Lecturer, The University of Melbourne.
