CLIENT BRIEF

Visual Culture has worked with the Stroke Foundation for a number of years on various campaigns. One of those large projects has been producing topic-specific video content for their online platform Enable Me.

We were approached by the team to produce a new series of videos for the initiative ‘Young Stroke Project’. This required a number of interviews to be conducted with young stroke survivors aged between 18-65. We visited people in NSW and Victoria.

One of the main challenges for this project was the restrictions in place in 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic. So our Creative Director Simon took on the solo video producer role. This meant assisting the client with developing questions sets, helping with scheduling and planning. Then for the filming days, he operated with two cameras for the interviews while also asking the interview questions. The Stroke Foundation team were able to log in remotely and listen in on each interview and provide any feedback. Once the interview was completed, he spent some time filming general overlay footage with each stroke survivor. Each filming session took around 3 hours.

Then we went back to the edit suite and developed engaging stories based on each persons stroke journey. We also identified key topics and sound bites, and separated those into topic-specific videos that will be used on the Young Stroke Project website.

We are very privileged to be able to help our clients share their stories. The feedback so far has been very positive and these stories will resonate with many people who watch them. This project definitely fits within one of our statements “it’s your story, we help you share it to inspire others.”

The stories are raw and honest but still positive and incredibly powerful.Thank you so much for all your hard work in producing these videos – we’re really looking forward to launching these amazing resources with our community!
